UC Tribunal / Appeal Success was created by Notyniki
After scoring 0 points in WCA and 0 points in MR, I have just been found awarded LCWRA. The tribunal lasted less than 2 minutes, just enough for the judge to introduce himself and the doctor. He said they had no questions to ask as they had read my submission and it was clear that I should be awarded LCWRA and I will get a letter in the post outlining the ruling. I only said 3 words "Hello" and "Thank you".
The relief at being taken seriously is immense. I feel like I have been living in limbo during the whole process which has lasted over 2.5 years.
Had it not been for the guides, advice and expertise on here, I would not have known where to start and I could not have prepared as well for the appeal. I only wish I'd known of you before I filled out my UC50. So a big thank you to you all.
Now for some more advice please.....because the process has been all-consuming, I have not been able to apply for PIP. I feel that I now have the headspace to be able to do this. Is there any way of applying for PIP on the back of being awarded LCWRA? Or is it just a case of putting that to one side and applying for PIP afresh?
Thanks again,

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Notyniki
Many, many congratulations on your award. I am so glad after all this time, you have won and, as you say, been taken seriously. Clearly, you made a very good case if the panel did not ask you any questions. Well done.
There is no way of applying for PIP on the back of the LCWRA. A few things overlap, and you might use all or some of the evidence you already have. We have a comprehensive guide that will walk you through the process. Don't assume they will know or understand anything about your condition/s or difficulties. You have to spell it out for them from the beginning.
When you take the plunge, come back and ask questions as you need and we will try and help.
Congratulations again.

Hi Notyniki, astounding that they got your award so staggeringly wrong in the first place. Hat's off to you that you found the resilience to pursue it over such a long time frame, that must have been very draining.
All good wishes to you as you apply for PIP.
