Awful PIP interview was created by Ring
I had my PIP interview and it went awful. I felt so very rushed and confused. I don't think I said everything I needed to say.
I have long covid (plus some other bits) and can't remember things. I had my form printed out but basically felt too rushed to read it. She just fired question and question after question. Moved on before I felt I had finished. Didn't type everything in. Talked over me.
Everything's in my form but she said they don't look at it!! I wanted to read from it but couldn't.
I'm so upset. I don't know what to do. I did record it. I did say at the end I felt I hadn't answered properly but she just asked what I meant and told me my form contained info not relevant to PIP (I thought it was pretty consise; I've done several successful DLA forms). I know she skim read it tho in the 20min wait before she begun.
My appt text came yesterday. It was supposed to be in 2wks but I had to rearrange it and they said "tomorrow" so I said ok. I looked at the guide on here prior but I cant remember things or read well.
My husband was with me but he didn't advocate very well e.g. say slow down.
I just dont know what to do. Appeal and then wait 6mths (12wk until interview, 12wk until decision) when we're already struggling so much

Hello Ring
I'm sorry that you have such an awful experience. Unfortunately, your situation is not unique. Many people feel they are talked over and rushed through the process.
Forty-eight hours after the interview, you are allowed to ring the DWP and ask for a copy of the assessor's report. It is called a PA4. Don't let them tell you, you have to wait for the decision because you don't. If you get an obstructive call handler (which occasionally happens), just put the phone down and ring again another day and ask for the report again.
The report will indicate how the assessment went and give an idea of what you could be awarded. If it's favourable, then all you need to do is wait for the award letter. If it isn't favourable, you have a small window of time to challenge the report by writing to the decision maker. Or you can wait for the decision letter to come out and then put it in for a Mandatory Reconsideration.
I hope that the outcome is better than you fear.

Hi Ring,
I am sorry you had to endure this awful 'assessment'.
This is plain bullying and should never be implemented or indeed allowed.
As far as I am concerned, this kind of 'express train' assessing is just designed to keep the claimant's involvement to the bare minimum AND to break their will.
Once you have your report you will be able to see exactly how much of your story the assessor actually acknowledged and took note of.
Finally, I would also complain to the DWP and the assessment provider and tell them what happened and how it affected you.
Kind regards,
Phrank.
