GP Form was created by Brian1888
Independent Assessment Services are currently reviewing PiP.

They received my completed review form around end of July.

My GP informed me around 2 weeks ago that they had received form from IAS to complete and return..GP indicated they would return to IAS in a day or two.
(I didn't ask GP what info the form was looking for )

Could you advise what the form could be and info they might be looking for.?

Is it normal for them to contact your GP ?

Do they contact everyone who receives PiP GP,s ?

As there are no changes to my medical conditions, medicines, and having received info from GP is it more likely than not that I may not get a telephone or face to face assessment and could be lucky enough just to have a paper based review ?

Thanks

Hi Brian1888,
These days DWP don't tend to routinely contact GPs. The form tens to ask fir a list of conditions maybe medicines too. There is then a question or 2 for the GP to list any known restrictions in mobility or for other daily living activities.
GPs are asked to complete the form when either DWP want confirmation of illness etc, maybe because it is an unusual condition, or there is a possible conflict with maybe the levels of medication or disability and what might usually happen. Sometimes it is just an easy way to confirm disability.
If you have regular contact with your GP who understands your disabilities etc it is possible that his report will convince DWP to award benefit, perhaps without the need for you to have a face to face or phone assessment. Maybe you should ask your GP for a copy of his report.
Hopefully you will have good news from DWP soon?
Fingers crossed.
