New condition diagnosed and hospitalisation this week

Hi everyone,

Hope the following makes sense.

I was reviewed May this year and awarded enhanced for both parts of PIP, (thanks to the guide and help here).

I suffered a TIA/stroke last November, which led to short term memory, speech, cognitive and coordination issues. (I also suffered a heart attack in 2020 and have had mental health issues all my adult life).

Earlier in the week I was taken to hospital with what was suspected to be another stroke, however after tests it was deemed to be a 'functional stroke' and in their opinion it's functional neurological disorder.

I've yet to speak with my GP, but i suspect this condition is the result of the TIA last November.

Is this something I would need to inform PIP about, can't believe the anxiety it's causing just thinking about another review potentially already, the one in May made me extremely unwell.

Hi William

The DWP are only really interested if it changes what you might be awarded for PIP. As you are enhanced for both already, there is no need to inform them of anything at the present time. You can include it whenever your next review comes up.
