PIP review extention date was created by LadyLuna
Hi,
My PIP review is due and I got my form a couple of weeks ago. It was dated 30th September but may have got held up with the postal strikes and arrived 26th October. I immediately telephoned DWP to ask for an extension due to the form arriving so late and because we have been evicted with 2 months to leave.
I was given an extra 2 weeks to 16th November. However, with moving, papers are getting packed and I don't have the time to get it all done.
I telephoned DWP today to see if I could get an extra extension under extenuating circumstances. The DWP worker said she would ask a case manager. The case manager has given me til mid December but when I asked if I would get a letter to confirm this, I was told no as this is special circumstances.
It dawned on me that I had a similar thing years ago regarding changing an ESA assessment date. Long story short, I ended up losing my ESA and going to appeal because I was told a date would be changed over the phone and it never was.
Should I ring tomorrow and check this is on the system and ask for it in writing? I don't trust them to not use this to stop my PIP just before Christmas.

They won't confirm the extension in writing but it would not hurt to ring them again to check that it has been added to your file.

Thank you. I rang today and DWP confirmed the date I was given yesterday.

I'm also concerned when they wouldn't confirm anything in writing about my 2 week extension, how difficult is a text or email? She did say I might receive a letter, but didn't seem sure! Such a long wait to get through and check, but thanks for the note, it may give peace of mind
