The best thing you can do is to familiarise yourself with the Mobility criteria. Have a look at or PIP Claim Guide from the Guides link at the top of the page.

If you have questions about criteria then come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.

Hi racheal and welcome. ASAP please please call them to say you want it recorded. Without this you have no evidence if your assessor turns out later to be a liar. You may find they postpone it due to assessors refusing to be recorded. No worries. Why would you risk being seen by someone ashamed of how they will treat you???
Also, please do not go alone. Having a witness whoever they are tips the balance in your favour -you will feel stronger mentally, and they can help you physically eg hold heavy doors for you. Then the assessor cannot write "had no problem opening door"!
As well as reading up the Guide page 120 on and maybe more, bear in mind the unwritten 'how to's'. So, don't on any account dress up. Our daughter went to one in a grubby onesie -this gives credibility to her having chronic fatigue.
And, don't take any extra meds or Red Bull type drinks to 'help you cope.' If you droop because that's how you are, let them see it. Watch out for little things like taking your passport to do the ID check, then holding it so you have to stretch to get it. I only realised that had been done to our daughter years later after reading it on here. I'd scotched his little game by reaching across to take it and hand it back to her. By the way you could be offered tissues if you cry, then it be alleged you can hold things well enough to do your cooking! daughter can't [has dropped whole dinners], but she did manage a light small box of tissues.
Hope I haven't scared you too much, just want you to be "forewarned is forearmed".
Very best wishes, don't forget about insisting on that recording. And max 48 hours after, call them for the PA4 report. If refused, end call, call again.
Kind regards,
Denby
