Pip renewal was created by bobbiejo
Hi I have just received my PIp review form and I am sure this question has been asked over and over but I actually haven’t any new evidence apart from prescription changes and dietary changes - I read somewhere that to treat it like a new claim and send all evidence - but I have also read this can go against you - please can you advise what is best .

Kind Regards Kate

Hi bobbiejo,
Don't worry if you have no new med evidence. Often depending on your condition, there is nothing new to report! If you can send a copy of your main diagnosis even if this is a while ago, to serve as a reminder of what's wrong with you. You can always get a copy of your GP notes to supplement this Otherwise if you have time you could organise an appointment with your GP to make him aware that you are renewing PIP and he can review you oemr confirm your ongoing disabilities and perhaps write a letter. (But this may not be achievable if you haven't got enough time or can't get an appointment, do don't worry)
Prescription changes are important. If meds are increased this is a good indicator that your condition has become worse and is good evidence, so make sure you explain this Conversely if meds have decreased explain this, because it might wrongly suggest improvement. (The real reason might just be a conflict or bad side effects)
Do you have a carer, friend or maybe relative who can write a brief letter explaining the problems you have with PIP activities and the help you need. Maybe if you work you can get a letter from your manager explaining any reasonable adjustments that allow you to work properly. All these can be helpful sources of evidence which are just as valid as med reports.
Make sure you fully explain your difficulties, what goes wrong and why. Give examples.
Remember to consider these 4 criteria all of which must be fulfilled:
Safety
Repetition across the whole day as reasonably required
Reasonable time
Acceptable standard
You can find more information about this and all the descriptors in the members guides.
Good luck.
