New evidence for delayed PIP review assessment?

Hi

I sent off my PIP renewal/review form (AR1) & medical evidence, back in July & am awaiting an assessment.

I appreciate i am likely facing a long wait for the assessment, but am concerned that if they dont do the assessment until a yr after the form/evidence was sent, will they consider that evidence out of date?

Its a nightmare getting the GP report, & its the same report thats been sent for the last 10yrs - nothing's changed or is likely to. And i find trying to sort that out almost as anxiety producing as dealing with DWP themselves! So am getting in a bit of a tiz about it the longer the wait goes on.

At what point will they consider the medical evidence sent in with a review form in July 2022 to be 'out of date'?

I would not expend any energy on worrying yourself about the age of your evidence. I think it's unrealistic to expect claimants to 'Limit' the evidence they choose to submit especially if it is relevant to their PIP application/review. For someone, I'm assuming' like yourself, who has a chronic problem, the evidence you provide be it old or new IS relevant. It demonstrates to the assessors, decision makers etc that your condition has either remained unchanged throughout the 10 years you mentioned or, has actually deteriorated.

I find it simply staggering that for those claimants who suffer a chronic, longterm condition/s which is/are unlikely to improve and in fact will deteriorate over time are continually subjected to the degrading process of justifying why they believe they should be awarded a 'Disability' benefit. I've been on the DWP treadmill for well over 25 years now and have lost count the number of times I have submitted letters from my specialist clinicians be they Spinal, Pain Management, Neurological, etc etc etc aka experts in their field, confirming that my condition, after all the interventions available to me, will only deteriorate over time. Evidence that very much obviously falls on deaf ears.

So my advice to you is, you use any and all of your evidence be it old or new that YOU believe IS relevant in support of your current PIP application/review. I sincerely hope it's not going to be too long a wait for you in the meantime, try and just chill.

Thanks SUE CC yes i sent everything i have already, old & more recent, i was just concerned that by the time the actual assessment happens what I sent would be out of date & i'd have to gather more... BIS has put my mind at rest that i wont.... thats such a weight off my mind

As far as I'm concerned, on the whole, most medical evidence supporting a longterm/chronic, condition does not generally have an 'Expiry' date.
