HI I am needing some expert advice. I have just joined the subsciption but i know this is not the right place to ask these questions. Anyway i still hope someone can point me in the right direction. I am receiving income based Esa and housing benefit and live in a small one bed council flat on my own. it is eligible for right to buy and my brother has offerered to buy it with cash. It would be my first home. So my question is .. how do I purchase the home without my ESA stopping, I need to talk to the DWP and say my housing benefit will cease when i own the flat but will it trigger a change in circumstances and will i lose my ESA . If he puts that money into my bank account and i buy the home will my income related ESA benefit stop ? I know i am only allowed 16k savings on Esa. Are there any options so i can own my own home without my Esa stopping. Thanks for your help
I'm glad you have the opportunity to own your own home, but your question is outside the scope of this forum. You need to speak to a specialist welfare advisor who can look at your entire case. I have attached a link to find someone in your local area. advicelocal.uk/
Good luck
