LHA Rates 2023? was created by AnonymousM
Hi, sorry to post this in the ESA/PIP forum, it's just that I don't see any others for some reason?

I wanted to know if the LHA rates are going to go up next year, as I haven't seen anything concrete. Does anyone know? I currently get ESA, PIP and Housing Benefit and know the first two will increase. But from what I've seen in various articles, the LHA will still be frozen at 2020 rates?

It seems unfair that they would do this as my rent has gone up quite a bit since then, and I can't see any cheaper places anywhere. So am very worried about this.

Hi AnonymousM

The Government has yet to publish rates for 22 to 23.

Hi AnonymousM

Local Housing Allowance
LHA rates will not increase in April – this means that some claimants living in private rented accommodation) will not see an increase to their Housing Costs Element in Universal Credit or Housing Benefit in April 2023.

Hi, the benefit rates for 2023 have shown that housing benefit will increase, is this different to LHA?

Hi AnonymousM

Yes it is different, LHA rate refers to the private rented sector.
