Contributions esa and in support group was created by sandra57
Hi
I am hoping that I can get an answer from someone to help clarify an issue for me.
I was put in the support group few months back as I’ve been off sick from my employer for a year today. I’m still officially on their books and they haven’t paid me off.
Employer paid my full salary for 6mths and then was supposed to receive half my salary for 6mths by an insurance company paid for by my employer. There was a breakdown due to my manager’s negligence on not passing my details to Unum. I had to fight and wait 4 1/2 months to get it sorted out. I’m off from my job of 30yrs due to my fibromyalgia.
Unum pays my salary through my employer monthly. When this was sorted out I was unsure what to do next so I called DWP to tell them that I was in receipt of the half salary as I didn’t want to get in trouble because of it.
I called DWP and spoke to a woman and I explained to her about this. Tbh I think she didn’t appear to know correct answer but she said she was putting something on my notes about the extra money I was receiving and the dwp would be in contact with me if needed. Needless to say I’ve heard nothing from them regarding this and still getting my support group money fortnightly.
I admit that I’m a worrier and wonder if this sick payment through my employer doesn’t affect my esa or who should I approach for guidance?
Thanks in advance

Hi sandra57
I answered your question in your previous post.

You do need to speak to your local Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your circumstances into consideration; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
