PIP to Adult Diability Payment transfer due to Change Of Cirumstances

Hi

I work for Citizens Advice Bureau in Scotland and in a forum of Bureau's and we have had clients reporting some confusion and difficulties when reporting a change of circumstances for their PIP to DWP which should result in an end to their PIP and transfer to ADP. The transfer can take up to 17 weeks!

It would be good to get some feedback from claimants who are going through or gone through the process.

Social Security Scotland say that as part of transfer process the DWP sends a "Goodbuy letter" It would be helpful to know what this letter says possibly including reason for PIP claim ending ? Transfer to ADP? or is it standard letter saying claim is ending etc?

Hope this makes sense

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Bob, unfortunately I have not seen the DWP letter. When I spoke to DWP about a case being transferred the call handler explained that although the system shows the PIP ending letter being sent it does not allow them to view the actual letter, so no one seems to know exactly what is on the letter.
Security Scotland can give you copies of what their letters look like, so if you ask the local or national partnership team they should be able to give you copies of the different letters that are sent at any given time through the transfer process.

Thanks for reply

Have copies of Social Security Scotland letters and when I asked SSS national partnership if they could provide details on letter from DWP their stance was that nothing to do with them and would have to contact DWP. Not very helpful probably need to discuss with MP to get some traction re DWP and MSP to get SSS to take some ownership.
