PIP 1 Journey so far a disgrace was created by Dalglish60
Hi
Long story short....plus question
Applied for pip for first time in mid September 2022 got pip 1 form by post sent back well before due date required. 3 months and still waiting for pip 2 big form. Mailed my MP last week to see if anything could be done. In a week they were able to discover directly from the DWP my pip 1 form was marked by dwp for the PIP Review process!!! and left in a pile of various pip forms!!!
They ensured my MP yesterday the pip 1 form would be sent to me by post within 2 weeks. Great work by my MP, but the dwp being the dwp, is it possible that they could give a very short date by which I need to complete/Send back etc. e.g. send pip 2 back by 27/12/2022 or first or second week of January etc for example or do they have to give much more time legally given their incompetency. Plus there is the effects of postal strikes.
Of note, do I have any recourse to complain to DWP through my MP given how my claim is currently being handled.

Hi Dalglish60
I'm sorry this has happened to you.
You should be given four weeks from the date on the letter to send back your PIP form, but you might find this is shortened because of postal strikes. Make sure you contact the DWP a few days before the submission date and ask for an extension. This will automatically be given to you. Some people have second or third extensions - but don't take this as a given. Always make sure that you ask for extensions in plenty of time.
You can complain through your MP or directly yourself. You will probably receive a standard reply about an 'unfortunate administrative error.'
