Thanks. CAB seemed to think self employment was different, but we shall see. I don't have much chance of hitting £152 a week anyway!
However... I have news!
I wanted to return here and give an update on the outcome of my permitted work as a writer (self publishing), as so often questions are asked and we don't find out what happened - and that doesn't help people in the future.
I rang ESA today for an update and was told that my writing DOES fit into ESA permitted work and a letter is in the post. Each case is probably different, but I just wanted to let others know the positive result in case they have a similar situation/query going forward.
Of course, without having the letter yet, I don't know how or if hours and earnings are averaged out, but I will come back and update when I get the letter in the post. I do need to write and say my starting date changed from December 1st to January 1st, as I got cold feet about starting without a "yes" from them!
But today I'm just celebrating. It's been a long time since I have had a job, and I think this is going to help enormously with my mental health next year. Something to get up for each day, being able to say you do such and such for a job etc. A very nice Christmas present!!
