ESA Assessment. was created by Breacon
Hi Everone,
I'm new to this forum, but was hoping someone could advise me please.
I have been of sick since last Sept, due to Arthritis, I applied for Pip, with the help from CAB. I was declined this, only scoring two points, I feel, they diddnt even read my application.
However I have an ESA Assessment next week, can anyone tell me, if when you complete the form, or during Assessment, you base your answers on an average of how your condition affects you. Every day seems to be different, although I rarely get a day pain free, most days, it's quite bad, but I can rest, because I'm not at work, so I don't have to push myself etc.
On a reasonable day, if I do too much, boy do I know about it, but again, I can rest, or take it easy.
I am very keen to return to work, but unable to do the job I once did, however I'm hoping I can do some work, possibly part time etc.
I feel at present, I am unable to do any work, & I'm worried, That I am forced to get a job.
I have found the whole benefit system harrowing to say the least, & it has affected me emotionally & the stress has exacerbated my condition.
Please could anyone advise or help.
Many thanks.

Hi Breacon
I think that you should complete all assessments based on your worst days and if anyone asks you about your good days, you tell them that you don’t have any good days just less bad ones.
Obviously I don’t know how bad your condition is, but do you use any aids to get you through the days. Eg walking aids, modified kitchen appliances, handrails, etc.. These won’t carry the same status in ESA as they do in PIP but don’t forget to note them. Similarly with any pain relief medication.
You may find a lot of helpful stuff for ESA here

I hope this helps
