I have a query regarding ESA and savings. If I own a property that I rent (and it is my only owned property) would it be regarded as savings for the purpose of income based ESA if I do not live in it? Would I be able to rent it out and claim income based ESA (again, considering that it would be my only property)?
Thank you for your question, it is outside the remit of the forum, I would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation who will be able to take all your circumstances into consideration; advicelocal.uk
If you rent the property out then it would be classed as income, as for the property, it could be classed as capital.
