ESA SG to UC was created by MattS91
Been on ESA SG with SDP/EDP for a number of years. I made a claim for UC on 10th January 2023 as I needed help with paying my rent when I move into a council property at end of the month, attended a telephone Biographical appointment on 13th January 2023 to confirm my identity. Agent asked for my N.I number and said he could see I was on ESA SG and this information reflected in my journal under "Other benefits affecting your Universal Credit". Been a week since my Biographical appointment and my UC account still hasn't changed since that Biographical appointment, and my advance is only showing £334 available to claim... Is this normal? 1 week after confirming all my identity nothing has changed on my online UC account

Hi MattS91

Providing your ESA was still in payment when you applied for UC then you should be awarded the LCWRA without having to go through the assessment phase, if your ESA stopped even for one day then you will have to go through the assessment phase once you have provided a fit note.

I would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation, advicelocal.uk they will probably have a template letter you can post on your journal to help you claim LCWRA.

Yes I was in receipt of ESA SG with the premiums when I applied hasn't stopped for 1 day. Been 10 days since the Biographical appointment and nothing has been added to my journal...

Hi MattS91

If you have not received LCWRA element in your next assessment period then ask on your journal and seek help from your Welfare Rights Organisation.

Finally had my Claimant Commitment through this morning, I took out an advance last week which was £334 which Im thinking is the standard UC rate, after signing/confirming my commitment I checked my advance again and it showed £354 available which Im hoping is the LCWRA? Is the SDP missing from my advances?

Hi Matts91

There are no disability premiums with UC unlike IR ESA, if you are placed in the LCWRA then you can get an extra element £354.28 pm.

So the answer to your question is ,No the SDP is not missing from your advance.
