Hi,

I just wanted to know if the old income based ESA style work focus interview WRAs are one and the same thing under UC or are they entirely different in terms of legislation etc?

Taking your question as asked then WFIs and UC WRA Interviews are covered by different legislation, however, the intention of the meeting is reasonably similar, to see what activities the claimant might be able to perform. The UC version has more framework around it, namely the UC commitment and it is much more likely a claimant would be sanctioned under UC than ESA as a result.

Hi Gordon,

Is it fair to say that under the UC framework - would ESA based WRIs restrictions listed below no longer applies?

apply for a job
undertake work
undergo medical treatment

Hi Rabbit55

As Gordon stated in his post they come under different legal framework, for UC claimants they come under the claimant commitment which is agreed with your workcoach.
