I've previously been awarded higher rate mobility and as such qualified for a Motability car which I've currently been leasing since December 2021. It might be worth noting here that I'd previously had Motability cars but that came to an end when I had to go appeal in 2014 and although I won that appeal I'd already had my Motability car taken away. I've now returned to the scheme as of 2021.
My question is, if I'm marked down and lose my enhanced rate for mobility, which happened previously, and I went to appeal and won would I keep the car until that appeal is decided?
If your mobility award were downgraded, then you would have to return your car in line with the date given by the Motability scheme. You would not be able to keep it while your appeal was heard. You would have to reapply to the scheme if you were successful at Appeal.
