Hello, I maybe moving to a different flat in the same local authority and I wondered what this ‘adjusted housing benefit’ means? I saw it on a website. I claim income related ESA.
“If you are Moving within same local authority then have a choice - remain on adiusted
Housing Benefit or claim
Universal Credit if you will be better off”
Also, will the ESA just carry on as normal on the same days?
I’m dreading ringing up incase the person on the phone tries to transfer me to UC

You will need to ask the web site you saw ‘adjusted housing benefit’ as it is a phrase I am not aware of.
You have not said if you are in private or social rented property, it will make a difference.
If you move property within the same local authority then you can stay on legacy benefits.
I usually find claimants who are in receipt of PIP and IR ESA are better off on legacy benefits, if the receive disability premiums.
For some claimants who are only in receipt of IR ESA support group but no PIP would be better off claiming UC providing they are eligible to claim LCWRA.
Seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation before you make any decision as you will not be able to go back onto legacy benefits; advicelocal.uk
You will need to contact ESA and inform them of your change of address if you move home, if not your claim will stop, we have heard this a number of time here on the forum.
