PIP telephone assessment was created by bassettsfarm
Hi everyone, I had my telephone assessment on 15th February. It was horrible, as expected. It lasted just under 90 minutes, and the woman asked me the same things over and over. Obviously trying to catch me out, but I answered honestly and hopefully that will be enough. My question is, when can I request a copy of her report please? Do I wait until I have received the decision letter, or can I do it before? Thank you.

Hi bassettsfarm
I'm sorry to hear you had such a grim experience. You can ring the DWP now and request a copy of the assessment report. It is a PA4. Don't let them tell you; you have to wait until after the decision letter because you don't. Occasionally we find that the call handler will give out the wrong information. If they tell you, you can't have the report, don't waste time arguing if they won't budge - just put the phone down and ring again and get someone else.

And bassettsfarm, when you do get your PA4, if it is point-losingly inaccurate, if you are quick you can write to contest it. Write to 'The Decision Maker' at last address they wrote from. Avoid ever accusing of lying even if they actually did. Keep it cold and neutral, 'appears to have overlooked,' 'has not taken xy document into account' etc
This can save an MR and appeal - I'm sure it did last time with our daughter [2 tribunals before...].
Hope it isn't necessary but if it is, go for it ASAP.
best,
Denby

I rang on Monday, eventually got through to a nice lady who said she would send a copy out and told me the file was now with the decision maker.
Anyway, the PA4 arrived today and it seems pretty fair.she has given points where I didn’t have them before, but taken away others. However, the recommendations she has suggested would mean my award stays the same as it is currently. Do the decision makers generally agree with the HPs advice? Thank you again everyone x

Hi bassettsfarm
Usually the decision maker follows the recommendation of the HCP but not always.
