It’s been quite some time since I have been on here but keep in touch reading all news.
What I would like know is,
I remember reading that if you are still receiving DLA after state pension age. When you receive the invitation to claim PIP
I would be able to claim the mobility and if successful get one of the rates and keep it as long as I qualify.
Does this still apply?
I have been waiting to transfer since 2015.
I have been on my state pension since 2018.
I would be grateful for any advice you can offer.
Many thanks.
Kind regards

There have been no changes to the law and it is still possible to receive the Mobility component on transfer even if over State Pension Age.

My sincere apologies for slow reply.
I have been ticking along with otstiarthritis vision problems. Have low rate D L R rate for both for over 20 years. So I am over state pension age.
Two months ago I have been dealt a major health blow that has now reduced me to a wheelchair.
I have. Been diagnosed with a grade 4 brain tumor aggressive deep in the brain to deep to operate as it may causes paralysis which it has now lost control of my left hand hand and leg. Treatment is radiology and chemotherapy. Consultant recons. Nerve damage already done.
Hopefully see what happens and get a reasonable out.
This is why I enquired about transferring to p I p it would help to get the mobility help.
I’ll come back and keep you loop. Any help will be appreciated.
Kinds regards.

Thank you for your reply.

So if I were to apply under change of circumstances it will stagger a review?

How do you think this will work under Scottish Adult Disability benefit?

All I see about Scottish Adult Disability benefit goes up and include state pension age. Transfer D L A to P I P Will follow over the next two years or so.(would that start a review similar to uk review)

I would to get this right the first time round. I have a the medical disabilities and backup evidence to build strong case.I would once again appreciate your help. Thank

Regards

As far as I can see reporting a Change for your DLA will result in an assessment for ADP, the Mobility component can still be added on this transfer.

If you don't report a Change then at some time you should be migrated to ADP instead of PIP, same rule re Mobility.
