Question on PIP over SPA was created by sandra
My review for PIP was due sometime between nov 22 and nov 23 but had to ring them regarding a change of address and asked about my review letter in case it had been posted ,the person told me that my review would not be until 6 months before the nov 23 date ,as I will reach 66 in early May would I have a light touch review as being on state pension then or would it be a normal review? Any help appreciated Thanks

Unless the DWP have already taken action to extend your award then it will end on the End Date in November of this year.
It is quite possible that the DWP will do this but this won't happen until a month before the End Date, so you will need to make sure you check with the DWP later in the year.
If they haven't or don't extend your award then you will need to pursue them for a renewal package, this should result in the automatic extension of your award until a new Decision is made.
You won't receive a Light Touch review. There seems to be some confusion over this in the forum, reaching State Pension Age does not qualify a claimant for a LT review, rather it is having an On-Going award that allows this. The DWP may choose to make your next award an On-Going award and this would then entitle you to a LT review on any subsequent review.

Thank you ,would a telephone call be enough to get the renewal package or is it better to send a letter registered post .

Hi Sandra
It's always much better to phone and then follow up with a letter confirming what you were told. If you just send a letter, you have no idea when it will get processed.
