Housing benefit stopped due to esa

Hello there, I had been told that my housing benefit has stopped due to systems being connected between DWP and housing benefit and because of my ESA annual upgrade. I don't know what to do, I had received a letter from my housing association that my rent has not been paid for 6 weeks now and I called local council and they told me to call them in 10 days time as they are checking with DWP. Can they stop and not paid my housing benefit if I'm still on ESA? She said it's most likely due to annual ESA upgrade but they are checking and to call them in 10 days time. In the meantime rent is my responsibility. I am scared. Can anyone shine a light in this? I would appreciate help.

Dear Gordon I just called DWP and was told that because I am on Contribution based ESA I would need to claim Universal Credit to help with the housing cost and that they told me that in 2021. But I don't remember ever being told that. He said that housing benefit stopped because of that

Additionally they told me I can't claim housing benefit with contribution based ESA
