ESA (New Style) - ends after 365 days? was created by frmarcus
Hello: I've just been awarded ESA. As an Armed Forces medical dischargee I believe I don't have the WCA; DWP uses AF medical info instead. That aside, ESA award letter states it ends in 365 days - which I think is misleading because if in Support Gp (I wait to see if), the one-yr limit doesn't apply. Can you please confirm that? Yet again this appears to exemplify poor/confusing DWP letters.

If you are in the SG then your award is indefinite providing you remain in the group.

The 365 days covers any time spent outside of the SG with the exception of you being placed into the SG on claiming in which case the 13 week Assessment Period is counted as also being in the SG.
