Starting to panic, I've not heard back from PIP still. was created by AnonymousM
Hi. I got sent a PIP review form last year and got it filled out quickly. I sent in a stack of supporting evidence to show that my condition is slightly worse, and doesn't look like it'll improve in the near future.
I received a text message in August 2022 saying they had received my form and that I may need an assessment with a health professional. I received a couple of updates since then, again saying they had my form, and that I may need an assessment.
It's March now, and I've still not heard anything over 7 months later. Is this normal? Or is it a cause for concern?
I have considered calling them, but it gives me serious anxiety and I can't face it. So thought I'd post on here and see if anyone knows what the current wait times are? And if anyone knows if I may need an assessment?
Thanks.

Hi AnonymousM
You have been waiting a long time. Unfortunately, the DWP are dealing with a backlog, and we have had members waiting as long as 18 months. You know they have the form, so if you don't want to speak to them, I'm afraid you will have to sit it out and wait to hear from them.

Hi, I filled out the form last June and have just heard back.
I also had quite a few texts saying that I may need an assessment, though in the end it wasn't necessary.
Try not to worry? I know it is so hard. It made me so ill at one point, during Covid, that I am determined now not to let it ever dominate my life again! Do some nice things for yourself, don't let the buggers.....

Hi AnonymousM,
I sent my daughters back Feb 22 and apart from the texts like you she has has heard nothing. She is still being paid so would assume they are very behind and that we will hear in due course

Sent forms back for end FEB 2022 , had an award extension letter in January 2023 saying extended till December 2023 then end Jan had a letter for a PIP telephone assessment on 15/FEB 2023! Absolutely destroyed Mental Health , I would honeslty start to gather and get things down all things ready for an assessment...the HP this time she was really lovely , assesment was only supposed to be 50mins but was 2 half hours and it was audited by Capita before sending to DWP , req report and got day after !! She wrote a good report supporting a move to enhanced for both DL and Mobility but we are still preparing a challenge , as we cannot believe the DWP wont challenge this is someway and try get it reduced ......plus we recorded it and having it professionally transcribed , but nice to know Capita do have some genuine ones , which Iv never experienced before!!! All the best x
