Hello, I was just looking for some advice. My pip telephone assessment was scheduled for this morning and they called me 5 minutes after the appointment time. They asked me to confirm my details then said "sorry, your assessor isn't able to make the appointment" and asked me to reschedule for next week.
I have severe anxiety, depression and ptsd and struggle massively with talking to other people. I was extremely worked up about the call (aren't we all), and have been for the past few weeks. I genuinely don't think I can face it again, I'm panicked, can't sleep and feel very ill with stress.
My question is, if I call next week to explain that I can't face the call again due to anxiety and panic, will they dismiss my case or can they process it based on what is already on my form?
I appreciate any input. Thank You.

You are free to request a paper-based assessment, but they are unlikely to grant one without a doctor's letter confirming that it would cause you 'overwhelming psychological distress' to have a telephone assessment.
Be warned even then the DWP and/or the assessment services sometimes ignore such requests.
There are two sets of requirements.
First, there needs to be sufficient evidence of how you meet the PIP Descriptors for an assessment report to be produced without you being contacted, things that will make it more difficult for you to receive a PBR are a variable condition or if you are unable to show a clear link between you limitations and the Descriptors.
You may be able to remedy this with additional evidence and/or testimony but there is no guarantee that this will be sufficient, ultimately the decision will lie with the assessor.
Secondly, you may be able to require a PBR if you can show that a telephone assessment will result in your suffering Overwhelming Psychological Distress but you will need medical evidence to support this.
