1st PIP review- waiting time. was created by Sazsclobber
Hi all
My daughter's PIP is in the process of it's first review. All PIP review forms were sent before the deadline of the 31/10/22. My daughter gets PIP due to her mental health. The first award is due to end on the 31/05/23.
I'm just wondering how long people have been waiting for the review decision and does the award continue after the end date or does it stop.
As it's affecting my daughter's anxiety- she's always worrying about it- so I'm doing this post to get some reassurance for my daughter to try and ease her worry. Thank you in advance for any reply.

Hi Sazsclobber
I'm afraid I can't be very reassuring here. I can't tell you when she might hear from the DWP. We have some members who are hearing after 18 months! Now that is the worst-case scenario, but the wait times are so variable we honestly have no idea. However, because your daughter's claim is due to run out at the end of May, if she can cope, I would ring and ask what the status is of her claim because you don't want it to end suddenly. It shouldn't, but the DWP are the only people who can confirm she will continue to be paid.

Hi,
I sent my review form back 5th Nov 2021 and final had tel assessment last week. I used to call them once a month to check progress but in Dec 2022 they added 12mths to my claim. That's the good news; however long you have to wait they will keep paying you.
Hope you hear soon,
Alison

Thank you BIS and Ali for the information- I'll pass it on to my daughter. Anything will help just to reassure her. I'll give it to April then I think I'll just give them a ring just to find out how its going. Again thank you
