Hi
My daughters UC has just stopped without any sanctions or notice, they just shut her claim and they didn’t pay her any benefit. She is a vulnerable adult, on the autistic spectrum, has chronic fatigue, and a mental health problem. Her Gp signed her off sick for three months and she now has another sick note for a further three months. I have submitted a MC. Apparently she didn’t tick the box for a commitment, she does not have to carry out any work related activities. She did agree these on the telephone with her work coach but i don't know what the are as her claim is closed. Surely they cant just close her claim and leave her without any money?

Hi triciatext

Unfortunately, DWP quite often will close an account if a claimant fails to do something, what she needs to do is open a new account, once new account is open then apply for a MR.

I would advise her to seek help from her local Welfare Rights Organisation to help with applying for a MR. advicelocal.uk
