Hi silverstar

I believe this question was asked earlier this week, and the answer was no, requesting a proof of benefit letter will not trigger a WCA, at present there is a massive backlog with adding to it.

Hi Gary,
did you mean there's a backlog of people asking for proof of benefits. Or there is a backlog in the WCA assessments ? And if its the WCA assessments, is it at the DWP side or say the assessors side.

Or is the backlog both ends.

Could you clarify please.

Thanks.

Hi MrFibro

It was a typo error, I should have said "without adding to it" and not "with adding to it"

I believe the backlog is caused by the volumn of post DWP are dealing with, I have not seen the stats in the number of WCA's so I cannot comment on that. DWP are moving staff members from one department to another to try and cope with volume but that then creates issues in the areas where staff have been pulled from.

I have heard that DWP are hoping to get everything on track by end of April, thats the plan, but we will wait and see.
