I've just received LCWRA and PIP but I have an ongoing claim against a builder going to court for compensation of costs for remediation work and stress as it's made me very ill, in fact my relationship broke down and partner moved out which meant I had to claim UC as this nightmare issue used the last of my inheritance money savings.
What happens if I win my claim and receive a lump sum of £9500 into my bank account? I know this would mean no UC at all but I would likely end up with less than. £6000 after paying off credit card debt accumulating in the meanwhile. I'm paying a lot for ongoing private medical care and prescriptions having gone privately due to waiting lists and when I had my partners financial support for household expenses which I've now lost.
Would I just lose a months UC and the LCWRA element? Could this in ny way result in having to start my UC and sickness claim all over again, I'm so ill with stress already and have used my inherence and 2/3rds of my private pension to support myself through 7 years of sickness already after the DWP failed my original ESA application following the assessors false reporting.
If you have over £16k in savings then any means tested benefits will cease, once your savings go below £16k then you will be able to re-apply for means tested benefits, UC + LCWRA, you will also need to supply a fit note.
