MR PIP was created by Perdita
I put in a MR request for PIP a while back. I have been expecting to have to appeal. However, I have heard nothing back from my MR request, but my last PIP payment was for a different amount. I am cautiously optimistic as the payment was higher and met the level I was fighting for. Two questions - should the payment of a revised award be backdated to the date of the original decision? What paperwork should you receive after a MR has been carried out? Thank you

Hi Perdita

You should receive a letter responding to your MR, which should inform you if you have an improved award. If that is the case, yes it will be backdated.

Thank you Bis. Do you know, or does anyone know, if the back payment is normally a separate payment? If so, does it come later?

Yes, it is normally a single one-off payment, it should be made 2-4 weeks after the Decision.

Thank you. I haven't had a letter showing the MR result but last week my payment of PIP that went into my bank account was more, reflecting the Award I have been fighting for. Perhaps the letter and back payment is still to come. (I can't face phoning up the call centre). I will wait and see.
