Hi, I am quite physically disabled and am fortunate enough to get housing benefit for the small flat I live in. My mum has become unwell with an Alzheimer's type condition, she needs a bit of supervision. She may be moving in with me, and I would like to know what effect this will have on my own housing benefit. My mum has no savings and just a state pension, she's not claiming any benefits herself apart from the state pension. Thank you
I would like to give you a straightforward answer but unfortunately I do not have enough information to do so.
I would advise you to seek information from your local Welfare Rights Organisation as they can take all your circumstances into consideration and look at options, such as treating your mum as a lodger; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
