Hi all
I placed a message on here earlier about not receiving an outcome from Mandatory Reconsideration which they had contacted and advised would be reached by 15 March. I called the PIP Helpline today to advise I'd not received an outcome. I was put through to a case handler who advised that an outcome had been reached, but it seems the system has failed to generate a letter. They advised they will send the letter which will take 7-10 days.
I didn't ask what the decision was for a couple of reasons 1 - out of fear for the answer which I expect will be a rejection based on what I've read here and elsewhere and 2- I presumed they'd openly tell me if it was successful, and hold back if it wasn't/hide behind an excuse they couldn't see the outcome. I did however ask when the decision was made and they said February. Which as I've received no payment suggests it is a rejection.
Anyone any advice such as is it typical not to send the letter?
Also from experience am I right to presume decision made in February and no payment makes my assumption of a rejection of MR correct?
With the delay in letters are they trying to prevent tribunal? will be affected by timescales?

They do normally send a letter, so I think the call handler was correct and one for whatever reason has not been generated.
I honestly can't say for certain whether no money means that your MR has been rejected because if they didn't generate a letter, they could also have forgotten to generate a result. I'm not saying you should be more hopeful, just that you can't tell until you receive the letter.
The delay in letters will not stop you putting in for a Tribunal. You are supposed to do it within one month of date on the MR letter. Even if you receive one with the original February date, you can still put in for a late Appeal and explain to the Tribunals service why it is late. Your reason will be accepted.
