Hi Latetrain,

Just to give you an update on my PIP review, which went on for over 2 years.

First of all a massive thankyou for your advice, as in regards to sending in a letter to the DWP prior to their Decision on my pip review.

I have received the final decision, and i have now been upgraded from PIP daily living lower rate to enhanced rate.

But my mobility has remained at the standard rate, i was ho[ping it would had also been upgraded.

I have decided not to go for an MR, as i am quite happy with my outcome, also the award is for 10 years.

I was not expecting it to last that long, which means now i can still get PIP when i am officially retired in 2 yrs time.

I think maybe the DM made a sort of compromise, by givng me daily living high rate and a 10 year award.

So as stated before i'm chuffed with the result, and will spare me an MR and an appeal process, which to be honest I really don't need.

I did my maths and the figures over 10 years rather than 3 years at high rates work out in my favour.

Lastly just gto let you know and other members that i was 1 point short of getting the higher rate for daily living, and the DM awarded me the extra 2 points for having to use an hearing aid as an aid, with communicating etc. As my previous posts i mentioned i have tinnitus, which affects my speech/ hearing. So i hope others in the forum may now be aware that having tinnitus and wearing combination hearing aids does score you vital points for PIP. (BASIC POINTS = 2 POINTS)

DWP have also backdated me 2 years PIP monies, from standard daily living to the enhanced rate, which was a shock, i couldn't believe it. I was trembling when i read the statement. So that's a huge bonus to me.

On an end note all my hard work & perseverance, over the past two years has come to an ended with a good result.

I'd just like to thank B &W and others for their support, in giving valuable knowledgeable advice.

ps i take it that the statement of award will be reviewed in 2033 as it says award from 2021 - 2033. ie reviewed in 2033 ?

Many thanks to all, and also good luck to others with your pip claims & reviews.

Hi MrFibro

Many congratulations on the award and well done for persevering.

Remember that once you reach state pension age you will not be able to apply for the enhanced mobility, therefore if you mobility deteriorated before SP age then you may want to apply for a change of circumstances.

I am tagging my reply so that the back office also get to read your encouraging post.
