Severe disability premium was created by 5345jacq
I have been awarded enhanced PIP for both living and mobility. I believe im entitled to severe disability premium and enhanced disability premium, im in the support group for ESA and receive extra money because of the disability income guarantee. I live alone and have never had anyone being paid to look after me and have never received carers allowance. Im very unsure as many sites have said it would be automatic payment. Can anyone help please?

Hi 5345jacq
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
You have not stated what type of ESA you are receiving IB or CB, if you are on IR ESA then it should be automatic, but not always as errors do happen, if you are on CB ESA then you need to contact ESA and apply for the premiums, you will be sent out a form to complete.
I have a client sent a form last week when we won PIP D/L at a tribunal a few weeks ago, the premiums will also be backdated to when PIP was awarded from, both SDP and EDP.

I have just been on the normal ESA and placed in the support group for over 10 years. As they have not added me automatically i guess i will not receive it.

Hi 5345jacq
What do you mean by "normal ESA", I went to see a client a few years ago when I discovered they were on IR ESA and they were also receiving std daily living PIP but they were not receiving SDP with their ESA, we put in for an any time review and their SDP was backdated to when PIP was awarded from which was just over 4 years.
You need to know which type of ESA you are on Income Related or Contribution Based ESA as that is the key.
