Appealing a decision via my To Do action on UC journal

Good morning, I am currently challenging a query with the housing element of UC (ESA Support Group; my partner & I can’t share a bed due to my conditions and as my son - who slept on the sofa when living with us - left to work elsewhere, DWP say we have a spare room and are reducing my benefit) All this has been actioned by DWP via a To Do task in my journal. I was told a Decision Maker will look at my answers and get back to. This is over 2 weeks ago now and I am concerned it may be delaying tactics on their part ie Mandatory Reconsideration route and time is running out for that, am I entitled to request a MR too? Thanks in advance

Hi Tuppence

This does happen quite often, you cannot appeal via your journal, but you can request a Mandatory Reconsideration. If you cannot share a bed due to a condition then you will need to get a supporting letter from your doctor or other health professional, then up load the support letter on to your journal.

One of the advantages of using your journal is that it is date and time stamped whenever you make a comment or the DWP asks you to do something on the To Do tab.
