Hello there. I retired on state pension on the 27/03/2023. Could someone advice me what happens to cares allowance that my wife claims for me? I get both elements of PIP at higher rate.
Thank you.

Hi jossmer

You will be pleased to know that as your wife has not reached state pension age then nothing will happen to her carers allowance, ESA is another question. ESA will stop if it is in your name.

I would advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your circumstances into consideration; advicelocal.uk to get accurate advice.

Cheers for the reply Gary. My wife will get her pension at the end of September. So its good to know that she will still get cares allowance for me, until then.

My ESA finished on the 26/03/2023 and I received over £900 as final payment of ESA.
