Hello! I wondered whether, in light of the new ways things are done since the pandemic, there are any statistics or other information which demonstrates the way people who have applied for PIP are interrogatedinterviewed by a so-called “healthcare professional”?

This is what I would like to know: What percentage of PIP applicants are NOT referred to an outside assessor, and therefore what percentage applications are decidd by a Decision Maker at the DWP?

If the DWP does refer an applicant for PIP to ATOS (or which ever profit-making company it has formed a contract with to lie aboutassess an applicant, what percentage of those interrogationsassessments are performed
1. Over the phone
2. Via a video format
3. In person
4. Are decided on paper alone?

And lastly, do those statistics differ between applicants who are applying for the first time and those that are applying in the guise of a so-called “review”?

Thank you so much. ;)

Hi Porridge

The government gives a breakdown of how they quantify the statistics and a link here: www.gov.uk/government/collections/person...e-payment-statistics

OK, thank you for that link. I presume, therefore, that they do not publish the sort of information I am seeking about the types assessment formats they foist upon PIP applicants.

Hi Porridge

I don't know whether this does or not, but it's more about outcomes than assessment types. www.gov.uk/government/statistics/persona...tics-to-january-2022
