Thank you for all your help so far.
I have just attended an interview with the local Jobcentre re my UC claim. I found it quite confusing to be honest. She said that it was up to her line manager, but even though I am in the LCWRA I may have to have another WCA. I am waiting to hear, but in the meantime, I have to sign the claimant comitment form by Sunday.
I keep remembering the information that you should not cancel your ESA claim before applying for UC. I haven't , but she gave me the feeling that either she didn't know what she was talking about, or she wanted me to cancel my ESA claim.
She also told me I would have to get a fit note - and advised me I should get one asap regardless, but I may not need it. I haven't worked since 2003, and I have never had a fit note. I didn't understand why I have to provide one.
I wondered if someone can tell me, can they themselves cancel my ESA LCWRA? And do I really need a fit note?
Sorry for all the questions. I am pretty scared and running out of time.

The Claimant Commitment is a legal requirement for receiving UC, it is supposed to be a negotiation in regard to what you are capable of doing.
Unfortunately, when UC was designed nobody thought to build an interface to ease the transfer of ESA claimants to the new benefit, as a result, everything has to be done manually and there is no visibility of one benefit from the other.
The transfer of your Support Group status to UC LCWRA will be done but it may take a few weeks, during this period the UC system will not recognise you as being unable to work so I would recommend your speaking to your GP about getting a Fit Note.
The DWP cannot reassess you as part of the transfer but they can once it is completed but this almost never happens and I would expect them to honour the existing review date, whatever that is.

Gordon, Thank you so much I feel a bit better about accepting the commitment now. I didn't realise that it all is done manually, what a waste of time, it could have been so much easier. Anyway you have really helped me understand, and I am grateful for your help. I have an appointment to get a Fit Note on Monday.

Hi again,
I have received my fit note from the gp which states I am unable to work. I don't know why, but it is only for six months.
As I am transferring to UC whilst being on ESA LCWRA I am afraid that entering the fit note now will start an assessment phase off by mistake, and therefore I am frightened to put the fit note in.
My UC claim says they tell me how much I am going to get on 2 July & pay me by 6 July.
I have an appointment to see my work coach next week to see that I am keeping up with my commitments - my only commitments are meeting with my work coach.
Should I withhold the fitnote for the time being, or am I just losing the plot altogether! Sorry for the questions again, but thank you so much for taking the time to help.

Hi sjwcr
Your post was answered, as I answered it; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/kunena/10-dla-...sed-esa-to-uc#279577
The problem is that you posted the same post 7 times!!
When you make it post it will not be seen until it has been seen by a moderator no matter how many times you post the same post.
Moderators usually delete repeated posts, this does happen quite frequently as members forget whether or not they pressed the send button, I have done it myself.
