PIP Review: 1 year from form to award decision was created by Gruff
Just posting to provide information on length of time my PIP review has taken to complete. Might help others to figure out average wait times etc.
I've been receiving PIP since 2019 and was sent a review form in May 2022 , this review itself was many months overdue what with the delays due to Covid lockdown etc.
So, review form received May '22, filled in and returned June '22. Many months passed hearing nothing, my original award was extended automatically by the PIP people due to the delay. Phone assessment sheduled and carried out early March '23.
Rang today to see if any news (1 hour on hold, grrr), informed decision made a few days ago, confirmation letter still pending in system.
So that's essentially May '22 to May '23 start to finish. Ouch.
You have my sympathy if you're currently going through the proces. Try not to get stressed by delays, the backlog makes them inevitable.
I'm happy as they've maintained my award at enhanced for both components and given me a next review date of 2026.
Good luck all, and thanks to Benefits and Work for the updated PIP guide, it's was very helpful through this review process.
