How to acquire forms for PIP claim was created by Samity
Hello,
I cannot seem to get past the first hurdle of claiming PIP as despite sending three letters asking for a claim form and a telephone request for a PIP form not one single claim form has been sent to me. It has been 3 months now.
Is this usual?
I accept that the two weeks period in which the forms are supposed to be sent is probably a bit hopeful but 3 months?
Is anyone else struggling to get a PIP 1 claim form sent to them?
I don't know whether to keep waiting or to phone them again.

Hi Samity
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
Yes it is very unusual, are you phoning: 0800 917 2222 new claims.
When you contacted DWP, did they ask you a number of questions and ask for your doctors details and bank account details?
I would definitely phone DWP again, even with the postal strike, you should have had the forms by now, if you still get no joy, then contact your MP and see if they can move it along.

Thankyou for advice. Yes I got my sibling to phone 0800 917 2222 and got asked the usual questions. I struggle to hear or understand accents on the phone so I applied by post initially...then after 3 no show forms..my sibling phoned them whilst I was present. I was concerned about the Drs phone no. question as I have not been to a GP since 2019 and suffer too much anxiety to go to a GP. Why do they ask this question up front?

Hi Samity
They are not asking you if you see a GP at this beginning stage, just if you have one. It's standard practice, and you should try not to worry about it. There are plenty of claimants who have little or no contact with their GPs.
