Hello, I've received the date for my telephone assessment. I understand you recommend claimants to record the assessment surreptitiously. My questions are: 1. can this recording be used in case I appeal or go to tribunal?
2. I heard some people saying they inform the assessor at the end of the assessment that it was recorded so they cannot do anything else to prevent it and this way the recording can be use legally. Is that correct please?
1. Yes, you can use a covert recording if you have to appeal the judgement. They tend to ignore them at MR - though claimants use them, but you can provide a transcript at the Appeal.
2. You don't have to inform the assessor at all - and indeed, I wouldn't. You can still use it.
