UC50 assessment was created by Chris
Hi All, Well I had my Work capability assessment this morning. Nearly 2 hours it lasted, and was extremely emotional, but I have to say the assessor seemed lovely. We talked about various topics such as work history, my daily routine, medication, family and journeys. I tried my best and now the waiting begins, and I think I remember someone mentioning I need to ask for a UC85 after I get my report. I have it all to do again as I've had my PIP appt come through for the end of this month. Not sure how long it takes to get the results, but I'm praying that it goes in my favour, and that I'm not forced into a mandatory reconcideration. Thank you.

Hi Chris

Well done for surviving a two-hour assessment. You can't get a copy of the assessment report until you get your decision letter. It used to be about eight weeks to get the decision letter, but it's difficult to guess how long it may take these days.

When you have your PIP assessment, you will be able to request that report 48 hours after the assessment has taken place.

Hi BIS, Thank you for your reply. 8 weeks, blimey thats a long wait. Will probably mean I'll have to submit another fitnote as mine expires again next week. I'm hoping the PIP one isn't as long, or wanting to go into similar details as the emotion of it, well it's just a lot to take, as I'm sure yourself and many others have experienced. I'm just hoping I've done enough not to be forced into something I can't hack. It's not easy when you suffer from social and travel anxiety on top of chronic pain. I suppose though, the wait is similar to "no news is good news". Thanks again for your support, it has really meant a lot listening to me, and advising.

Hi Chris

I hate to bring you bad news but PIP decision time is similar to WCA, although it does vary from region to region.

We often hear from forum members that it can take a few weeks to many many months.

Hi Gary, Thank you for your reply. Well, literally 2 hours after my assessment, I received a message in my journal saying " We are reviewing your UC claim to make sure that your payments are correct. As part of the review, you will need to send us information to confirm your details. We will update you within the next 7 days." It had me baffled as to what it was about, and then I thought.....during the phone call with the assessor, they asked if I took anything else other than my medication? and I mentioned that I use CBD balm, and that it's a life saver, but doesn't come cheap at £50 a shot, and thought, hmmm are they thinking because I can afford that, that I get too much money? But I only manage because I get PIP on top of UC. If it wasn't for PIP, I'd genuinely worry how i'd survive. Don't suppose you would have a clue as to what it's to do with, or if you know of anyone else mentioning receiving a message like this after an assessment?

Your assessor has no route of contact with your Work Coach on your journal.

Many accounts are being reviewed in this way, I assume your claim was made during the pandemic when identity checks were suspended, they are now going back and verifying claimants.
