I am my wifes P.O.A and i would appreciate your input.
My wife has been on DLA for a very long time for Osteoarthritis but when her Paranoid Schizophrenia (diagnosed 8 years ago) by the community Health Team & Psychiatrist, became as big if not more of a problem that her physical health, I wanted to update DWP. As I thought, they said I would now have to apply for PiP, due to "change in circumstances" which I did.
In March this year they sent a text saying they had received the forms and they would let me know if they needed a telephone assesment.

I got a letter today saying they had all the medical evidence they needed (I sent lots of evidence for both her conditiins) and they will now decided if they can award my wife PIP and they will write let me know the outcome.

Is this letter usually sent out, I would have thought if they had all the evidence needed, it would have been easier to just tell me the outcome when they had made the decicion.

My wife stresses and over reacts to everything and is now convinced it means she wont get an award. Could anyone tell me, is it usual for them to send the type of letter I received today, in the hopes that I can reassure her its all normal. Thank you Mick

It's a standard letter but there is variance in how often it is sent out, your wife should read no more into it than what it says, they have all of the information they need to now make a Decision, probably 8 weeks till you receive the letter.
