Hi

Are the new PIP online writing box tech specs known ?
So typically the answer box is a certain width / length / height and the readable font / text is for example between 14-8 point.

For paper versions i always typed / cut and paste my answers to fit as much as poss within the designated box area and deferred to extra information loose pages for anything that didn't. I also could exploit the box area over lap to increase the size box when cutting and pasting my answers. I think my fonts were average size 8-9 point and for most i could fit the entire answer in that size.

So i am unsure what to expect with online - does anyone have a clue of answer box sizes the min size font usable and the max no. of readable words / lines a box can accomodate ? Is there a technical rule now known ?

thanks for your attention

I haven't used the form myself but I believe another member reported that there was a limit of 5000 characters for each comment box.

I'm glad I read your post. 9 years ago I typed every answer, cut with scissors and sellotaped onto their form. I thought I had done a good job as it was all legible. However, they turned me down with just 2 points for daily living. I ended up at tribunal and was commended by the chair for my paperwork and awarded enhanced mobility and daily living ... 2 points to 26 points! 3 years later I had a review and decided to write it all out by hand and dumb it down a bit. It crippled me sit in a chair for hours at a time doing it this way, but when I was assessed and 'interrogated' I was later awarded the same points and enhanced for both categories. I did not know if it was because I had written my response by hand? 6 years later I am now having a light touch review and I did not know whether to write out my responses longhand or (much easier for me) to type them out, cut them up and stick them on the form and send in reams of medical evidence. Over the last 6 years I must have iro 30 letters from doctors and pain consultants. What do you think my friend?

Hi AndyWalker13

It's up to you whether you write your answers by longhand or type. You should do what works for you.

Well looking at my last PIP 2 which was typed, cut and paste into the form my average character to fill the box seems to be about 2500 at about 8 and 9 point - with about half the questions spilling into extra information...beyond that.

So Gordon's indication of a max character count of 5000 for the online form will suffice if it's correct ?? Any confirmations appreciated because that seems like a lot for the size box and someone mentioned if you type too much the font just keeps getting smaller and smaller so it might end up a silly size like 2 point ????

I guess i can flow onto a word doc and scan that in as extra information in the evidence scan section - Is that ok to do too ?

cheers
sp

Hi, I done the online form and I can confirm the 5000 characters. While you're typing or pasting it looks okay however when you have the option at the end to download the complete form everything comes like a massive paragraph.
I have later uploaded the answers in PDF format for a better reading.
