I was due to have a PIP review on the 31st May due to worsening medical issues, they called me and promptly cancelled it, the rearranged appointment is on the 15th June, one week after I reach Pension age, in your experience is there any possibilty that this could negatively impact any positive outcome of getting additional support? (currently on the standard rate of PIP)
When a PIP claimant reaches State Pension Age - PIP continues; however, it is not possible to increase a mobility award from standard to enhanced.
If you reported a change of circumstances prior to reaching state pension age, and if after your review they say - they can't increase your mobility (because of your age) - you should argue that you put in for a change of circumstances some time ago, and so the decision and money should be backdated to point you informed them.
After SPA your daily care can be increased.
