OK, so all I can suggest is that this is some sort of automated text and no one has checked whether you or your wife are receiving a means-tested benefit which would allow the payment of the Premium.

So much much is the premium, is it paid backdated to the start of my wife's pip? And how long does it take to know?
Dwp were very friendly but overall, I'm still very confused (it doesn't take much as you can guess)

The Premium is £76.40/week, however, if neither of you is receiving a means-tested benefit then you are not eligible to receive it.
