PIP - Received Entitlement Letter was created by AnonOrange
Hello,

I have received my decision letter - and in the first section where it talks about what you can do if you disagree with a decision you

You can ask us to explain why.
“You, or someone who has the authority to act for you, can phone or write to us within one month of the date on this letter to ask us to explain our decision.”

Does anyone have any idea as to what you should say on a written letter to request this? As I have no idea what I should say…

And also if anyone knows what you get as a result that would be great.

Hi AnonOrange

This tells you that you can put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration, challenging the decision. If you want to do this, having a copy of the assessment report is much easier, as you will then understand why they came to the decision they did. This is a PA4 if you had a telephone or face-to-face assessment. You can ring the DWP and request a copy of the report and it will take 7 to 10 days to reach you.

You can read about putting in for a Mandatory Reconsideration in the Guide to PIP Appeals, including the MR information.
