Hi everyone hope you’re all well.
My PIP review forms were returned last September, my award stops on the 21st July this year.
Today I received a text message from the DWP stating “ your PIP review ks complete you should receive your decision letter within 2 weeks “
Now the negative side of me is saying this isn’t good news as I haven’t been asked for assessment. However the posting side of me says this is good news as I attended an ESA face to face assessment last October and was put in the support group. I reminded the PIP guys of this in a RelayUK call 2 weeks ago as I am profoundly Deaf.
I am in panic mode, as I have a Motability car and may need to hand it back if the decision is bad news.
Has anyone else received these text messages? no letter just the text saying your review is complete, decision letter soon.
Sorry to ask a trivial question but I have been waiting 9 months for the review and now panic!
My next payment is due on the 20th June, if they make a decision to stop my PIP would this be affected as my original award was until July.
Thanks everyone.

Hi DarrenL
Thank you for your post, there is no such thing as a trivial question
I do not remember seeing a post from a forum member with the same information as yourself, we can only ask forum members for their input.
Your benefits will be affected from the date the decision takes effect.

Thanks Gary, I appreciate the support and it not being a trivial question. I noticed a few spelling mistakes in my original post. My autocorrect must of being working overtime! The sentences should read " PIP review is complete " and the other " my positive side "
As I say I received this text message this morning to say my review is complete, and I will get a decision letter within 2 weeks. Why they just don't send the text when a decision is made I do not know. All it does is add to the frustration and makes me nervous and anxious. Every time the postman calls I will be at the door waiting for the next two weeks!
I am also trying to plan for a mandatory reconsideration or tribunal as my hearing has deteriorated to profoundly Deaf since applying for PIP three years ago. As has my degenerative spine, ache and pains.

hi,
just to give you my experience, i also receieved a text very similar, i am in CB support group ESA and was on standard for both mobility and daily living, i had a paper based review, where the HCP awarded me enough points for enhanced on both, someone phoned me up from dwp, was quite friendly, just said he had one question to complete the award, which was had i spent a night in hospital recently, can't remember the dates but it was not going far back, i told him i score enough points for enhanced on both, and thought i should have been awarded the same in 2016, the HCP recommended a five year review but he gave me enhanced for both for ten years, plus a lump sum of nearly a year that i should have been awarded it, been on benefits for 20 years only ever had one face to face, when i first got it in 2003 around that time anyway, all the rest have been paper based, from my experience just be honest and hope you get a decent case manager, other people will have horror stories i''m sure, but i feel a lot better now it is out the way, famous last words good luck

Hi DarrenL
One of the reasons why they do not send a text message with your result is due to data protection, this is one of the reasons why they send letters out by post, I know it can be very frustrating.
Have you sent in supporting documents in regards to your hearing, you may find RNID web site useful; rnid.org.uk
Fingers crossed you will get the result you were hoping for.

Hi Gary,
I guess there is that point to it regarding data protection.
Yep, I originally applied for PIP in 2020, my hearing therapist in London wrote me a supporting letter and I supplied all of my audiograms since being diagnosed. For my review I sent the most recent audiogram and another letter my therapist wrote for ESA. I was being assessed for Cochlear implants at the time as I really don't hear anything without hearing aids. Even then speech is muddled and I cant make words out. I also have loud intrusive tinnitus which drives me wild and really gets me down some days, I have always discussed hearing loss/Deafness and tinnitus as two separate conditions for PIP purposes. I cant get away from the tinnitus and some days it's overwhelming and really gets me down. Luckily I had a F2F ESA assessment in October last year and was placed in the support group. I told the PIP guys this and they were pleased as it helps them make a decision and they can look at other assessments you have for benefits. On top I have degenerative spine, muscle wasting and continual pain in my shoulder and lumbar spine due to the degeneration and anxiety caused by hearing loss and the pain. So if `I don't get my award they won't stand in my way at MR or Tribunal as I have so much evidence
